Period Antique English early Brass Trivet

"Antique trivets" brass trivet, fine antique English trivet. Late 18th century to early 19th century brass trivet. This early brass trivet has hand cut open work and engraved ornamentation. The brass has a mellow soft patina from 2 centuries of polishing and use that cannot be duplicated. Trivet measures 7 and one half inches high by 10 inches long. Hand riveted. This trivet stood in front of a fire place for setting heavy hot pots on. It would make a lovely stand for a potted plant.
