American A. Finta Bronze Sculpture plaque Dionysus Prometheus Item # 4630 Dionysus or Prometheus, American Bronze Sculpture A. Finta 1881-1958. This wonderful bronze plaque by sculptor "A. Finta" retains its original patina and measures 8 and one eighth by 9 and one quarter inches. Fita was a member of the American Federation of Arts. He did several commemorative monuments some in Brooklyn, Rio de Janeiro and Tchecoslovaquie. Born June 12 1881 died 1958. This item is in our antiques archives and is NOT AVAILABLE for sale. English Brass candlestick holder with snuffer c1800 Item # 4631 English brass candle holder, c1800. A conical snuffer is a attached to the handle and the tray would was made to hold a wick trimmer See " The Brass Book" by Peter, Nancy and Herbert Schiffer page207 for a very similar example. Hercules bronze figure lamp plant base c1900 Item # 4690 Hercules bronze figure lamp plant base c1900. This solid bronze sculpture of "Hercules" measures 24 and three quarter inches high and 10 inches in diam. at the base. It measures 22 and one half inches to the base of the plant or lamp holder. The space inside of the holder measures 6 and one half inches. This figure was copied from one found in Pompeii by the Roman Foundry.
